Hunt Checklist

Pre Hunt:

  1. Obtain Permission
  2. Know the Boundaries
  3. Check State Regulations
  4. Obtain Hunting License and Permits
  5. Ensure Safety Gear (including blaze orange clothing, hunter orange hat, safety harness)
  6. Check Firearm Safety
  7. Know the Season and Special Regulations
  8. Pack Essentials (binoculars, knife, water, snacks, first-aid kit, etc.)
  9. Inform Others of Your Plans
  10. Respect Wildlife and Know Emergency Procedures

While Hunting:

  1. Respect Wildlife
  2. Follow Safety Zones
  3. Report Harvests
  4. Dispose of Waste Properly
  5. Leave No Trace

Things to pack during your hunt.

Post Hunt:

  1. Harvested Game and Attach Tags
  2. Record Harvest Information
  3. Pack Up Gear and Dispose Perishables
  4. Clean/ Store Equipment, Check Damage
  5. Thank the Landowner
  6. Reflect and learn
  7. Process and store harvested game
  8. Follow Up with Authorities (if needed)
  9. Leave the Area Clean and Undisturbed.
  10. Stay Informed of Regulations and Land Access changes
